Brendan Rodgers is excited ahead of Liverpool's clash against Brisbane Roar on Friday night.

Liverpool square off against A-League side Brisbane Roar at the Suncorp Stadium on Friday night and the match is expected to attract a strong capacity crowd of around 50,000.

Manager Rodgers is certainly excited ahead of the game and has stated that the occasion will be a special one.

Rodgers told the Liverpool Echo: "I got a feel for the support the club has in Australia when we were here two years ago and played in Melbourne.
"It was an incredible night and I'm sure this will be the same. Pre-season is an important period. Ultimately, it's about developing the fitness but it's better to perform well and win. The players are looking very strong and the game will be another good test for us."
