The 25-year-old has been used as a winger for most of his time at the club.
But he is hoping that he can show manager Ralph Hasenhuttl during preseason that he is capable of playing as a number 10.
Redmond believes the central role could be the best one for him.
“The second half against Bournemouth, I was playing number eight," revealed Redmond to reporters.
“Pierre was playing as number six and me and Prowsey were number eights, I wasn't too happy about it but the fact he trusts me enough to play me there speaks for itself.
“I think if the last six months was an audition for me to give myself the best chance to play in this sort of number 10/striking role, then hopefully I've given myself the best account.
“If the formation is 3-4-3 or 4-2-2-2, I think he [Hasenhuttl] likes to play with number 10s and not necessarily wingers.
“I can play in the number 10 position, so it will be interesting.
“Pre-season will be tough first and foremost, but tactically it's going to be interesting to understand."
