Boufal was supposed to be sold this summer but has instead won over Saints boss Ralph Hasenhuttl.
After being set up to score by Boufal in Saturday's win over Brighton, Redmond open up about his connection with the Morocco international.
Speaking to BBC Radio Solent, Redmond said: "Me and Sofiane, we try not to pass to anybody else in training when we're on the same team. We love playing together.
"He's got unbelievable ability and I think the only thing for him at the moment is what the manager wants, which is people who can run like a horse without the ball.
"In time, he's starting to do that in training and he's getting his opportunities.
"When you've got ability like that, and you add that little bit of hard work in – which I obviously had to do – it's all worth it for the team.
"He's settled right back in and I think we're going to see more of his ability this season."
