Jamie Redknapp has compared Arsenal new boy Granit Xhaka to club great Emmanuel Petit.
Former Liverpool midfielder Redknapp thinks that the Switzerland international has a similar left foot as Petit, who won the double with the Gunners in 1998, and can be a key player for the North Londoners in his debut season.
Placing Xhaka at no 6 in his list of '10 players to watch in Premier League next season' for the Daily Mail, he said: “This player has such a cultured left foot.
“The last Arsenal midfielder I can remember with such a superb left foot is Emmanuel Petit.
“I played against Manu many times and he had a brilliant through ball and wonderful passing range. Xhaka has all those attributes and is a similar stature to the Frenchman.
“While he is not a player who likes to put his foot in, the 23-year-old will complement the likes of Aaron Ramsey and Santi Cazorla in Arsene Wenger's midfield.
“I can't wait to see how the £30m Swiss star does — he has all the ingredients to be a big success."
