Redknapp: Manchester derby could turn nasty if...

Former Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp says Jose Mourinho and Pep Guardiola must not make things personal for Saturday's Manchester derby.

Redknapp wrote in the London Evening Standard: "Jose Mourinho and Pep Guardiola clearly don't like each other but they have a responsibility to set the right tone in Saturday's Manchester derby.

"There shouldn't be any hatred between the players because most of them will have known each other for years. The biggest aggro will probably be on the touchline and if it kicks off between them, things could turn nasty.

"I've never been in that position where I've really disliked someone I managed against. Mourinho and Guardiola are both very animated on the touchline — they shout, jump around and can go out of their technical area sometimes. When you are in the dugout, you are aware of what the other manager is doing but I always had Joe Jordan with me.

"If they started jumping about, Joe would shout over to them: “Oi, you! Sit down!" They'd take one look at Joe and normally do as they were told!"
