Jamie Redknapp cannot believe that Marouane Fellaini led out Manchester United in the clash against Sunderland on Sunday.
With the likes of Wayne Rooney, Michael Carrick and Juan Mata all missing from the United starting lineup, midfielder Fellaini was handed the captain's armband by manager Jose Mourinho and the decision surprised many.
Former Liverpool star Redknapp was not left too impressed at the fact that Fellaini was named captain and stated that the decision was probably made due to a lack of leaders in the current United squad.
When asked if Fellaini was a good choice for captain, Redknapp said on Sky Sports: “No. No I wouldn't really.
“Are you joking? He's captain? Okay. Well they probably haven't got the leaders Jose wants. That's probably why they've gone with him as captain."
