Red Star Belgrade coach Dejan Stankovic has double motivation facing AC Milan on Thursday night.
The Inter Milan great not only wants to beat their Europa League opponents, but also wear them out for the weekend's derby.
“If I have to choose, I pick tomorrow's game, but not because I'm not in love with Inter. The league is still long, while there is no room for mistakes in Europa League," Stankovic said at a press conference.
“I'm at the beginning of a new path, I am the coach of Red Star and I am the happiest man in the world. I consider myself an honest, straightforward person, but only the results count and luckily they are coming.
“We won the last two away games, we are in shape. We'll face a tough team, with a great coach. Praise to Pioli who is reaping the rewards of a work he begun when he seemed close to leaving. They have amazing players: Leao, Rebic, Castillejo, Zlatan, Calhanoglu and Kessie who is a war machine. Theo is almost as decisive as Maicon was in the season of the Treble.
“Red Star have a good mix of young and experienced players: Katai, Ivanic, Gavvric, Milunovic, Degenek and Borjan. Then Falco and Falcinelli have settled in well. There are many Italians in my staff, Sasso is the match analyst, Pannoncini the fitness coach and Brivio the goalkeepers' coach."
