Liverpool are close to signing Mako Grujic, with reports suggesting the Red Star Belgrade midfielder will undergo a medical at Anfield in the coming days.
Serbian publication Danas is reporting Grujic has been granted a work permit and will officially become a Reds player provided he is given a clean bill of health on January 4.
It is understood Liverpool will loan the 19-year-old back to Red Star for the remainder of the current season, before he moves to Merseyside on a permanent basis during the summer.
Should the deal go through, Grujic will become the first signing of new Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp.
