Red Bull targeting club ownership in England

Energy drink behemoth Red Bull are planning to step into the English football market.

The Austrian-founded global brand have identified England as their next target for football club ownership which was enhanced during Ralf Rangnick's visit to London last weekend, according to the Daily Mail.

Red Bull's football chief and RB Leipzig's director of sport went to games at Chelsea, Charlton Athletic and Brentford last weekend as he started sussing out the English market.

Red Bull already own Bundesliga club Leipzig as well as MLS franchise New York Red Bull, Austria's Red Bull Salzburg, Sao Paulo club Red Bull Brasil and Red Bull Ghana in Sogakope, but are now looking at making a base in the UK.

It is understood that a number of Premier League and Championship clubs would welcome any interest from the company who has the highest-selling energy drink in the world on their hands.
