Record signing Slimani honoured to join Leicester

Islam Slimani admitted it was a great honour to finalise his transfer to Leicester City.

The Algerian striker joined the Foxes from Sporting Lisbon on a five-year deal for a cub-record transfer fee believed to be in the region of £30million on deadline day.

The 28-year-old, who scored 27 goals for the Portuguese giants last season, was delighted to have made the move to sign with the reigning Premier League champions at the King Power Stadium.

"To join a team like Leicester City is a huge honour and I can't wait to get started," he told LCFC.com.

"I've always wanted to play my football in the Premier League and to get the opportunity to do that with the reigning champions was something I simply could not turn down.

"I saw the amazing success of last season and the passion of the Club's supporters. That's something that I'm so excited to be a part of."
