Real Sociedad striker Willian Jose resisted a move to Tottenham this summer.

Mundo Deportivo says Tottenham were turned down by Jose before signing Carlos Vinicius.

The 28-year-old, who nearly joined Barcelona in January, has been linked with a move away from Anoeta.

West Brom, Sevilla and Marseille were all reportedly tracking the Brazilian frontman, with Spurs also in the race.

But the striker opted to stay put and the north London side brought in his countryman Vinicius.
