Carlos Vela could soon be on his to MLS but the Real Sociedad striker will not necessarily be joining this off-season.
The 26-year-old Mexico international has long been linked with a move to the USA and Canada's top flight, with his agent confirming a possible transfer is on the cards.
However, Vela's representative Eduardo Hernandez told FOX Sports that his client certainly has MLS in mind but a move is still yet to be determined.
"Carlos has been playing in Europe for 10 years, far from his family, and that is why the United States is an alternative, but that doesn't mean that Carlos Vela's immediate future is there," he said.
"It could be now or in two years or maybe three, we don't really know. There is much to consider, but we are of the thought that no doors should be closed. We don't want to limit Carlos' options, and that is why we are listening."
Regarding the fact that the Colorado Rapids hold his discovery rights, Hernandez added: "We must first address the situation of the Colorado Rapids, listening. But it is not a fact [Vela] is going to the MLS."
An additional report on LaAficion.com suggests that the former Arsenal forward is also on the radar of San Jose Earthquakes, Chicago Fire and New York Red Bulls.
