Real Sociedad president Jokin Aperribay is disappointed by Inigo Martinez's departure for Athletic Bilbao.

Inigo has upset fans over his decision to leave for rivals Bilbao.

Aperribay declared: "We are very proud of those who wear the shirt of the Real Sociedad, those who do not want to continue wearing the shirt of La Real can leave.

"We think that La Real has a lot of strength from its youth and from its juniors. The first team still has a lot to say. We trust in the project of La Real and the team.

"What his environment told me is that they were going to accept an irrevocable offer from Athletic.

"I haven't spoke to Inigo. The clause (&euro32m) has been deposited at half past two. We would have been happy that he had dismissed it."
