Real Sociedad midfielder Mikel Merino says they deserved their Europa League win against Omonoia Nicosia.
La Real won 2-1 in San Sebastian on Thursday night.
Merino said at the final whistle: "We kept working and kept believing and we know what we can do. Normally when you concede a goal the team goes down a bit mentally but we had a really good performance after we conceded the goal and we scored and we won."
Goalscorer Alexander Sorloth admits Omonoia pushed them on the night.
He said, "I saw before I came on there was a lot of space so I saw the opportunity to score. I could have scored earlier on the counter-attack but I am very happy with the goal and the win.
"It was bad to concede when we did. I felt we had full control of the match and it should have been 2-0 but we bounced back."
