Real Sociedad midfielder Adnan Januzaj insists he deserves his place in Belgium's World Cup squad.

Januzaj's selection has been criticised, with AS Roma midfielder Radja Nainggolan left out of the 28-man preliminary squad by coach Roberto Martinez.

"At Real Sociedad I played mostly on the right, with a free role, I went there to show myself and respond to all those who criticised me, it's my mentality, I know that I am a player who can make a difference. This was the case this season," said former Manchester United winger Januzaj.

"I have finished the season very strong.

"That's why I'm here, because of my physical and football qualities, but also mentally, I feel good and at the highest level, I feel good physically and mentally."
