Real Sociedad coach Imanol Alguacil says victory at Athletic Bilbao would make a successful season even better.

La Real are targeting Champions League qualification this season.

Imanol said ahead of Saturday's clash at San Mames: "Being a derby, I'm not clear about what's going to happen either, but what we're going to try to do is clear, which is nothing more than playing a good game, and we're going to do everything on our part to do it, we're going to have chances to win and the goal is to get out of there with 54 points and having won the derby, with nine games to go, something that would be brutal.

"I think Athletic are having a great campaign. With Ernesto (Valverde) they have improved at the level of game, with the ball, with high-quality people on the inside, with a lot of overflow on the wing, with good full-backs... It's a very complete team."

La Real would take a very important step for Europe if it defeated Athletic.

"It's going to be important but, even if we win it and they fall behind by 14 points, we mustn't rule them out, because Athletic is having a great season and if they're not in the final and higher up in the league, closer to us, it's because at specific moments, in which they have been better than the rival, they have not been successful on goal."
