Real Sociedad are closing on a deal for Arsenal fullback Nacho Monreal.

The 33-year-old has dropped down the pecking order at the Emirates after the arrival of Kieran Tierney and is looking to La Liga in hope of finding consistent first team football.

The Spain international has made 250 appearances since joining Arsenal from Malaga in January 2013, providing 10 goals and 20 assists over eight seasons.

Monreal's wife is from San Sebastian, making Real Sociedad an appealing option for the left-back.
