Real Sociedad boss Alguacil so excited about Copa run 'I've not slept for four days'

Real Sociedad boss Imanol Alguacil admits he's excited by their Copa del Rey run this season.

The Basque side reached the semi-finals of the tournament this week with a 4-3 win over Real Madrid at the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu, and they will next face Mirandes in the last four.

"It's a unique chance for the four of us," Imanol said.

"It's the semi-finals and it means the same if you're in the first or second division.

"I've not slept for four days and I've lost five years of my life after [the match against Real Madrid], but let's hope I lose another five years because I want to see the fans enjoy another victory."

Real Sociedad face Athletic at the Reale Stadium on Sunday in the Basque derby and Imanol says all the focus is on that.

"The players and I are focussed on the derby because it's just as important as the game at the Bernabeu," he noted.

"I've been told that some fans were crying the other day, something important, but tomorrow's match is vital to keep growing and exciting."
