Real Sociedad and Athletic Bilbao were held to a 1-1 draw at the Reale Arena on Wednesday night.

La Real were looking forward to playing again, following a previous defeat to Barcelona. Athletic Bilbao are struggling for form following a draw in their last match.

At the moment, Real are in 5th place, with 46 points from 29 matches, while Athletic Bilbao sit in 10th, with 36 points from 29.

Following a goalless first half, Athletic Bilbao took the initiative, thanks to Asier Villalibre giving The Lions the lead, on 85 minutes.

In the end though, their lead was short lived, as Roberto Lopez equalised for Real just before the final whistle.

Next up, Real will play away against Valencia, while Athletic Bilbao will face Alaves at home.
