Real Oviedo join LaLiga trio in voting against CVC investment deal

Real Oviedo have been revealed to be the fourth club to vote against the CVC Capital deal.

Sport says the Extraordinary Club Assembly has passed the deal between LaLiga and the CVC Investment Fund by an overwhelming majority (38 votes in favour).

Only Real Madrid, FC Barcelona, Athletic Club and Real Oviedo voted against the deal. An eleventh-hour amendment has allowed the deal to pass, which was necessary given the opposition of the league's biggest clubs. CVC has agreed not to negotiate, "within their 10%", the audiovisual rights of the clubs that have voted against the deal. In other words, FC Barcelona and Real Madrid will not be affected by the deal.

The clubs who have voted against the deal, including Real Madrid and FC Barcelona, will not receive any of the 2.7 million euros being injected into LaLiga. In exchange, CVC will not have any influence, now or in the future, over their rights or income.

By voting in favour of the deal, clubs will not be able to participate in other competitions - either now or in the future - such as the European Super League. As such, these clubs will now be tied to LaLiga for the next fifty years.
