Real Mallorca are firming as favourites to sign Real Madrid midfielder Takefusa Kubo.

The Japanese star has attracted interested from clubs around Europe as well as LaLiga Santander after an impressive Olympic Games with his national side.

Mallorca and Real Sociedad are keen on the midfielder, with the former being favourites to land his signature. Kubo enjoyed a successful loan period at the club in the 2019/20 season, making 35 appearances and scoring four times, says Marca.

Real Madrid would prefer to send him to Real Sociedad, particularly after Martin Odegaard's spell in the Basque Country, and see it as a good opportunity to develop as he would have the chance of playing Europa League football next season.

Finances will also play a role and may hold Mallorca back from a potential deal.
