Real Madrid youth coach Guti is being linked with a move to Scotland.
Guti, 41, has emerged as a potential frontrunner for the Bernabeu job, having followed in the same path as Zinedine Zidane.
However, the BBC report that Guti has shown interest in the vacant St Mirren job after Jack Ross left for Sunderland.
The Scottish Championship-winners are expected to name a boss within the next week.
Should he take up the role, the Scottish Premiership would have a host of big-name managers with Brendan Rodgers and Steven Gerrard at Celtic and Rangers respectively.
