Real Madrid winger Marco Asensio was delighted to feature for Spain in their Euros qualifying win against Malta.
Having not been able to find his best form with Real Madrid this term, the former Espanyol midfielder was grateful of the chance to represent La Roja.
"I always have confidence, but I've played two whole matches and that helps," Asensio told TVE in the mixed zone.
"It always helps to play.
"The team has been at a high level."
Malta proved difficult to break down for much of the match, albeit not posing any sort of attacking threat themselves.
"We knew they were going to be tight in defence," he confirmed.
"We had to have patience and move the ball from side to side.
"We knew that we could win, we had two good matches."
