Real Madrid wing-back Marcelo insists the players are fighting for coach Julen Lopetegui.

Marcelo spoke after their 2-1 defeat at home to Levante.

"We are with him [Julen Lopetegui] to the death," Marcelo told beIN LaLiga after the game.

"He speaks to us clearly and there is a good relationship between us and him, we have to let him work.

"I feel the colours of this club and I feel bad when we don't win, you cannot compare Lopetegui with [Rafa] Benitez."

Levante left the Santiago Bernabeu with an unlikely win, but Marcelo is unconvinced that they were deserving of their three points.

"Levante didn't do much," he said.

"They took advantage of our mistakes at the start and we tried to get back level.

"We were dead at the end of the match because we left our skins out on the pitch."
