Real Madrid are set to table an offer for Ajax midfielder Wesley Sneijder.

Real chiefs were stunned yesterday by Michael Ballack's public pledge of commitment to Chelsea and are now turning to Sneijder as an alternative.

Sneijder admitted last month to being flattered by Real's interest and the Spanish champs are now ready to accelerate negotiations for the attacking midfielder.
