Real Madrid will challenge Chelsea for Lyon attacker Nabil Fekir in January.

L'Equipe says Real Madrid are plotting to bring him to the Bernabeu.

A whole host of clubs were believed to be monitoring Fekir in the summer, with Chelsea also showing an interest.

But Real Madrid could blast them all out of the water with the promise of filling the boots vacated by Cristiano Ronaldo after his £99m move to Juventus.

The 25-year-old saw a £52million move to Liverpool scrapped in the summer with the Merseysiders backing out due to fitness concerns.

But Fekir has not let that disappointment get to him, and has starred for the French side so far this season.
