Real Madrid striker Alvaro Morata has lifted the lid on his conversation with Atletico Madrid coach Diego Simeone last week.

The pair were seen chatting during the Champions League tie.

After scoring twice in his side's 4-0 win over Granada, Morata explained: “Talking to Simeone at the Bernabeu? It had nothing to do with football, we had a joke."

Morata has now scored 20 goals in all competitions this season, more than Karim Benzema, but he wouldn't enter into comparisons with the French striker.

“More goals than Benzema? The fans think this more than I do," the Spain international said. “I don't think about scoring more goals than a team-mate, only about scoring. I'm at 20 [goals] and it's a good number."
