Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema says he'll always value the support he received from former coach Zinedine Zidane.

Zidane always stood by Benzema during his three seasons in charge of Real, despite criticism from inside and outside the club.

The striker told France Football: "Zidane? People who love you, you recognise them in bad times.

"And he has always been with me, he has always supported me. From beginning to end."

Benzema is this season displaying career best form for Real.
