Real Madrid signing David Alaba has told coach Carlo Ancelotti he'll play where needed.
Alaba has joined Real Madrid in a Bosman deal from Bayern Munich this summer.
Asked about his favourite position, Alaba said: "For a long time I played as a left back for Bayern, but lately I have played as centre-back.
"And before that I have played a few times in midfield. What does favourite position mean? I am happy to play where I can help the team the most."
Alaba has played as libero for Austria at the Euros and added: "I think in that position you have a lot of influence on the game in both directions, both in attack and defence. You have a different perspective of the game. You have a lot of the ball, you can set the rhythm of the game and influence the creation more of the game."
