Vincent Kompany has labelled next week's Champions League semi-final as a game that could define some players' careers.
Manchester City meet Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabeu in the return bout on Wednesday night following the 0-0 draw at the Etihad Stadium on Tuesday.
Ahead of that monumental clash, City captain Kompany has highlighted the importance of such an encounter which he feels could make or break he and his teammates.
"It will be up there with the biggest games - it's a career defining game and there is so much still at stake," said the Belgian.
"I think what you want is to give yourself a chance and we've given ourselves a chance.
"If I was playing an away game and it was 0-0 I'd see it is an uncomfortable result. It's a pressurising result. If you are going to have a draw at home, which is not a bad thing against Real Madrid, then 0-0 is the best result
"Then again, I still back my team to score over 180 minutes. I would not expect us not to be able to score one goal. If we do manage to do it at the Bernabeu then this tie will be very much alive."
