Real Madrid have given up on trying to sign Aston Villa wing ace Ashley Young.

The Daily Mail says sources in Spain say the Spanish champions will not make a move in the January transfer window after being told he would cost £30million.

Juande Ramos made Young his No1 transfer target after taking over at the Bernabeu, but Real will wait until the end of the season to make their move after already shelling out about £20m to take midfielder Lassana Diarra from Portsmouth and a similar figure to sign striker Klaas-Jan Huntelaar from Ajax.
