Real Madrid are expected to close the signing of Werder Bremen star Mesut Ozil today. AS says after a break from talks over the weekend, the two clubs will again come together today to negotiate terms. The idea is to find a compromise between Real's initial €10 million offer and Werder's €16 million valuation.
Werder chief Klaus Allofs left the door open last night when declaring: "When I said that Madrid's offer was unacceptable, I did not mean that we're unwilling to listen to new proposals for Ozil."
Real hope to agree a deal before Wednesday when Werder must play their Champions League qualifier against Sampdoria.
