Real Madrid put plan together to sign Rennes midfielder Camavinga

Real Madrid are putting a plan together to sign Rennes midfielder Eduardo Camavinga.

Marca says despite it looking like the economic effects of the pandemic had put the brakes on Real Madrid's interest in Eduardo Camavinga, Los Blancos are still very keen on the Rennes midfielder.

The 18-year-old France international has been on Madrid's radar for some time and they had looked the clear favourites to sign him at one point.

Economic concerns then made Los Blancos take a step back, while the player switching agents to join Jonathan Barnett, who represents Gareth Bale, threatened to complicate any potential deal.

After the disappointing Champions League exit to Chelsea, however, Real Madrid have decided that their midfield needs to be more dynamic and also requires an injection of power and strength and that Camavinga's profile would be a perfect fit.

The thinking at Madrid is that Camavinga's arrival wouldn't threaten the progress of Antonio Blanco, either, who they see as having a different role.
