Real Madrid president Florentino Perez says Zinedine Zidane will be their sporting director from next season.

Perez revealed Zidane will also have input on the next coach.

"We want the new sports project to be led by Zidane. When we choose the coach, Zidane will be in charge to sign the best players," said Perez.

On Barcelona's deal for Santos star Neymar, he added: "If I could sign Neymar without altering the ecosystem of the club, I would, but there were many factors. Neymar would have cost us about €150 million.

"I do not know what Barcelona paid for him."
