Real Madrid president Florentino Perez has spoken to Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy about Christian Eriksen.
AS says the pair met face-to-face on Friday in Madrid for UEFA's official dinner at City Hall.
Perez and Levy have a long-standing relationship given the exchange of players between the two clubs over the years.
Eriksen is the latest up for discussion, with Perez eager to bring the Dane to Madrid this summer.
However, there has been tension between the two supremos this season as Levy was angry by Perez's attempts for Spurs manager Mauricio Pochettino before Zinedine Zidane's re-appointment. Perez has also been unhappy with Levy after Spurs let it be known Real paid €101m for Bale - when they have always insisted the fee was €91m.
In Eriksen's case, Perez is reluctant to pay more than €70m for a player with a year to run on his deal, while Levy rates him closer to €200m.
