Real Madrid president Florentino Perez is prepared to see Gareth Bale sit out next season.
The Wales captain has privately let it be known he's open to returning to the Premier League this summer after realising he has little chance of a major role next term under coach Zinedine Zidane.
For the moment, Bale's €15m salary is proving a major stumbling block, though a return to Tottenham and a reunion with his former Real coach Jose Mourinho has been mooted.
However, any thoughts within Spurs that Real would be willing to release Bale on a free transfer have been dismissed.
Mundo Deportivo says Florentino is determined to make money from Bale's departure and is insisting he will only leave for €25m.
Bale still has two years to run on his current deal.
