Real Madrid president Florentino Perez has told coach Julen Lopetegui the priority must be the Champions League this season.

With the final being staged at Atletico Madrid's Metropolitano, Florentino has told Lopetegui winning at their city rivals would be ideal.

El Confidencial reports a recent conversation between the pair, where the president said: "The priority is to win the Champions League in the Wanda. And if it can be against Barcelona, better..."

Florentino was half-joking, though later remarked: "To win the Champions in the Wanda would be perfect."

And a Madrid source confirmed: "Conquering the Champions in Madrid, and to do it in the Wanda, would be media and publicly the best possible action for the visibility and the coffers of the club."
