Real Madrid have joined in the race to secure the services of Manchester United target Lucas Biglia, according to Calciomercato.

Lazio star Biglia has been one of the most consistent players in the Italian Serie A over the past few years and the midfielder has consistently been linked with a move to the Premier League, with United said to be keen admirers.

However, the Red Devils are set to face stiff competition in their hopes of signing Biglia though as it has now emerged that even Spanish giants Real Madrid have joined the race to sign the Argentine international.

Madrid have viewed Biglia as a backup option to Luka Modric and Calciomercato have claimed that Los Blancos have already established contact with Lazio over the 29-year-old's availability.
