Real Madrid play down pursuit of Liverpool target Llorente

Real Madrid boss Rafa Benitez has distanced himself from reports linking him to a move for Spanish frontman Fernando Llorente.

Spanish broadcaster La Sexta this week reported that Benitez was keen to bring the Juventus striker to the Bernabeu, reports that club sources have blasted as 'completely untrue'.

Los Blancos however, will be looking to bolster their strike force after deciding against making permanent the loan deal of Javier Hernandez and having only Karim Benzema as their sole forward option.

Juve are believed to be looking to move Llorente on and Italian publication Tuttosport even reported the striker had been offered to AC Milan. The Rossoneri are believed to consider Zlatan Ibrahimovic their number one target.

Though distancing themselves from Llorente, Real made no statement over their potential pursuit of Paul Pogba and Marco Verratti, as rumours linking Los Blancos to the midfield duo continue.
