Real Madrid passed on signing BVB superkid Sancho

Real Madrid passed on signing former Manchester City youngster Jadon Sancho last year, it has been revealed.

AS says Real were in advanced talks to sign the English teenager from City before he put pen to paper with Borussia Dortmund.

But the England international reportedly insisted on training with the Real Madrid first team from the outset and wanted assurances over his prospects of making the step up if he started with their 'B' team, Castilla.

Real Madrid were hesitant to commit to these demands after their experience with Martin Odegaard, who has struggled to make an impact since his high-profile signing as a 16-year-old.

However, Real Madrid are determined not to miss out in their pursuit of another Man City young gun as they target Brahim Diaz when his contract expires in the summer.
