Ajax could yet land Martin Odegaard this summer, it has been revealed.
After starring this season on-loan with Vitesse Arnhem, Ajax have attempted to strike terms with parent club Real Madrid over a fee for the Norway international.
Real though have refused to do business after being convinced Odegaard can have a future with them.
Instead, reports De Telegraaf, Real have raised the prospect of Ajax taking Odegaard on a two-season loan. The midfielder would continue to get regular football, while Real would also retain his registration.
Ajax chief Marc Overmars has identified Odegaard as a replacement for the Barcelona bound Frenkie de Jong.
