Real Madrid remain the most valuable soccer club brand in the world, according to the latest edition of the Brand Finance Football Annual, reports, www.sportspromedia.com/.
Despite being boosted by winning the La Liga title for the first time since 2017, the club retained top spot ahead of domestic rivals Barcelona against a backdrop of economic and social disruption, caused by the coronavirus pandemic. The Brand Finance report actually rewarded Real for a 14 per cent managed decline of their brand value to €1.419 billion (US$1.667 billion), just €6 million (US$7.06 million) ahead of Barca.
A disappointing 2018/19 campaign and Covid-19 eroded the Real's dominance as Barcelona managed to attain 'strong and diverse' revenue generation alongside the domestic title last season to grow their brand value rating to €1.413 billion (US$1.663 billion).
