Real Madrid midfielder Fede Valverde suffered an injury setback during victory at Barcelona.

Valverde suffered a sprain in the lateral ligament of his left knee, reports Marca.

Thibaut Courtois also had a knee issue, but that was nothing serious, however the Uruguayan midfielder was forced to have further tests on Monday morning in Madrid.

The club ruled out a serious injury like an ACL issue, but it was determined that the former Penarol star had sprained the lateral ligament in his left knee.

He will miss most of the scheduled training sessions this week and will be further evaluated in a number of days.
