Real Madrid midfielder Luka Modric has taken aim at Atletico Madrid coach Diego Simeone.

Modric admits he's fed up with Simeone's sniping.

"He [Simeone] has a constant need to undermine Real Madrid," he explained in an interview with Sportske Novosti.

"He takes advantage of any opportunity to suggest unrealistic instances to explain Real Madrid's achievements at the expense of other teams.

"I have great respect for Simeone and the players and supporters of a great club like Atletico, when they are victorious, we congratulate them sincerely, but it's not fair that our successes are reduced to constant populist jibes."
