Real Madrid midfielder Kroos preparing for international retirement

Real Madrid midfielder Toni Kroos is preparing for international retirement.

It has already been announced that Joachim Low will leave Germany after this summer's European Championship and now Kroos is set to follow.

The midfielder has played 101 matches with the German national team, has scored 17 goals and won the 2014 World Cup.

BILD says he will retire from international duty after this summer's competition.

At that point, Kroos will be able to focus on his club football with Real Madrid. In 2019, an agreement was reached between Kroos and the club and a new contract was signed, one that runs to 2023.
