Real Madrid midfielder Kroos admits injury recovery dragging on

Real Madrid midfielder Toni Kroos admits he's still some way from returning to action.

The German midfielder left training with discomfort three weeks ago, which later turned out to be a case of pubalgia - a strain or tear of the soft tissue in the groin.

"As I feared, this injury won't heal in a week," Kroos said as part of his video message, which he posted on social media

"I'm making small progress, but it's still relatively small. So it's still difficult to say when I'll be back on the pitch."

In Kroos' absence, Real Madrid have picked up from four points from a possible six to start the LaLiga Santander season after beating Alaves in Vitoria and then drawing at Levante.
