Real Madrid midfielder Eden Hazard undergoes successful surgery

Real Madrid midfielder Eden Hazard has successfully undergone surgery on his ankle injury in Dallas.

The Belgian was operated on by Dr. Eugene Curry at The Carrell Clinic. Curry serves as an orthopaedic subspecialist consultant to the Dallas Cowboys, the Southern Methodist University athletic department and the Dallas Mavericks.

"Our player Eden Hazard underwent successful surgery today in Dallas on a fractured right distal fibula," Real Madrid's statement read.

"The operation was supervised by the Real Madrid medical team.

"Hazard will remain under observation until he is discharged from the clinic to begin his recovery."

Hazard will, in principle, be out for the next two to three months.
