Real Madrid midfielder Casemiro happy to score in victory at Alaves

Real Madrid midfielder Casemiro was happy to score in their 4-1 win at Alaves.

The result was crucial for Real after two Copa defeats in a week.

Casemiro said, “It was a tough game against opponents who know exactly how they're going to play and who have picked points up here against some of the big teams. We had some major absentees, but have once again shown that we are capable and that's the spirit we have to show in our LaLiga games.

“The results haven't been good, but we've shown that we're still alive and will battle on right until the end. We produced a very good all-round performance from start to finish. Everyone must be congratulated and we now turn our attention to our next game. If there's been one complete performance this season, it'd be this one. It was one of the best performances we've produced. The key thing was that we understood the game well and stayed focused for the 90 minutes. These are three very important points."

On the goal, Casemiro added: "The goals usually come from the players up top, they're the ones who score the goals. My job is different, although I like to be amongst the goals."
