Real Madrid midfielder Marcos Asensio was delighted to kickoff the season with victory over Getafe.

Asensio insists they can move on from the departure of Cristiano Ronaldo - and Sunday proved it.

He said, "He's already gone, I think we have a great team, we're working well, as I said, this is the way forward.

"It was very important to start well, we played a very complete game, we have to go little by little, this is the first game, but this is the way to get started in this league.

"In the European Super Cup what happened happened, we had to turn the page, this is another competition... A new season begins, we have a lot of enthusiasm, we played a great game."
