Real Madrid legend Roberto Carlos insists Cristiano Ronaldo's departure to Juventus didn't come as a surprise.

The Brazilian also says even former coach Zinedine Zidane's resignation didn't take him aback.

"Did Cristiano Ronaldo's departure surprise me? I have to say no, of course, Cristiano gave a lot to Spanish football and Real Madrid, but he still went to a big club. I thank him for what he did in Madrid and I wish him to do the same in Italy, " said Roberto Carlos to ITASportPress.

"Even his (Zidane's) departure did not surprise me. People have life plans. He decided to leave after reaching the peak of his career as a player and coach."
